Mixed Drinks with Limoncello

I'm declaring this the official drink of people who retire in their 50's. It has some old school ingredients but with a refreshing new twist. 50 is the new 40!

And not for nothing but look how beautiful this drink can be when placed in the proper glass that matches the color of your cocktail shaker:

It almost makes me want to retire early. But...give up this gig? Why bother.

Ingredients
  • 2 oz Cognac
  • .75 oz Lemon juice
  • 1 oz Limoncello
  • .5 oz Triple Sec
Instructions

  1.  Pour all ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice

  2. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass

Some people think there are recipes that you shouldn't mess with...and then there's me. 

I'll put limoncello in anything godammit.

  • 2 oz Dark rum
  • 1 oz Limoncello
  • 3 oz Ginger beer
Instructions

  1. In a glass filled with ice, add dark rum and limoncello

  2. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with lime wedge

Mixed Drinks with Limoncello , Bourbon Limoncello Drinks

Sometimes things that seem wrong end up being awesome. For example:

In much the same way, we've employed daring, bravado and a little bit of alchemy to produce a drink that contains bourbon, Campari and limoncello. Oh...and still tastes good.

Ingredients
  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1 oz Limoncello
  • .75 oz Sweet vermouth
  • 1 oz Campari
Instructions

  1. Combine bourbon, limoncello, Campari, and vermouth in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is cold and frosted (15+ seconds)

  2. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass

Limoncello St Paddys Cocktail

My wife is half Irish and half Italian. This heritage is so common in Boston that we call it the Boston Mix. 

This is a cocktail designed for all you Irish-Italians out there. The ones with a deep desire to celebrate St. Patty's Day but who are too refined to drink green beer all night. 

If you like to talk with your hands and disagree with your fists...this one's for you...

St Patrick's Day Cocktail
Ingredients
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz limoncello
  • 2 oz Midori melon liqueur
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • Soda Water
  • Lime peel for garnish
Instructions

  1. Combine vodka, limoncello, Midori and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously.

  2. Fill a rocks glass with ice, strain chilled cocktail into prepared glass. Garnish with a twist of lime peel.
